A grant to an individual can be a life- or career-changing change. The Fellowship to an Emerging USA Ballet Artist for Mentorship and Choreographic Experiences Grant provides the recipient with the opportunity to work with one of the top emerging ballet companies in the country, Philadelphia's BalletX, under the mentoring of the world-renowned choreographer Trey McIntyre. The emerging choreographer will work with Mr. McIntyre to produce a World Premiere that will debut as part of the Winter Series 2016.

BalletX combines flawless ballet technique with contemporary, original choreographic expression. The dancers demonstrate mastery and joy. Mr. McIntyre's work has been performed by the American Ballet Theater, the Cincinnati Ballet, the Malpaso Dance Company, and the Miami City Ballet. From 2005 until 2015, he directed his own multi-disciplinary Trey McIntyre Dance Project, with performances across the US and abroad as part of the US State Department's Dance USA.

The Fellowship is funded by the Wynecote Foundation, a Philadelphia-based philanthropic organization which provides funding in a variety of areas, including education, the environment, health and human services, and with a particular focus on new organizations in culture and the arts.

This grant will give the opportunity to bring a young artist's talent potential into fruition through working with an experienced master.
